Community personal assistant services
The Community PA Service provides a fully managed, flexible personal assistant service outside of the home that is tailored to the needs and wishes of the client. The aim of the service is to empower people to live full and active lives, as independently as possible. The service is available to people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory loss, including those with multiple sensory impairment and older people.
The Community Personal Assistant post will assist people to pursue and enjoy a wide range of leisure, recreational, educational and work-focussed activities which can include:
- socialising with friends;
- going to pubs, clubs, theatre, restaurants and the cinema;
- taking up a new hobby;
- learning something new at college
- accessing and sustaining work and volunteering opportunities.
