2018 is the year of growth for The Platform and we are excited to welcome some real ‘do-ers’ to our team. We want to introduce you to our growing Social Enterprise staff who are coming together to offer support to people in the community looking at setting up and running businesses for good and paving the way for a more favourable economy for social enterprises to thrive.
Social Enterprise Project Coordinator
Leila has a background of working with local communities to take action on social or environmental issues they care about in the context of political campaigning. Leila is leading on our Pan-European Innovation Project, Spark Social Enterprise and will be a driving force behind the sector campaigns. She is excited about bringing her skills to The Platform to support social enterprises to address the local challenges and would love to see the Greater Brighton Social Enterprise Network working together to influence local communities and policymakers to support the sector.

Business Development Advisor
Ruth is a social entrepreneur, cofounder of HISBE Food, and business consultant to corporates, SMEs and social enterprises. Ruth is working closely with Sara Osterholzer, sharing her knowledge of running a social enterprise into developing and delivering support tools and opportunities for social innovation. Ruth is most excited to be helping budding social entrepreneurs launch and run successful businesses. She would like to see the local Social Enterprise Network collaborate to support a public-facing campaign to show people how they can use their money for good, by spending it with social enterprise.

Head of Social Enterprise
Supporting organisations to grow and develop has been central to Gabriella’s previous roles, in particular third sector organisations including social enterprises, charities and community groups. Most recently she was Development Manager with Community Works in Adur & Worthing and has also co-founded a social enterprise, the Colombian Coffee Company.
Gabriella is really excited to join The Platform and get involved with supporting the many and varied amazing social enterprises across Brighton & Hove. She’d like the Greater Brighton Social Enterprise Network to become a focal point for social enterprises at all stages of their journey to come together, learn from shared experience, and support each other; as well as develop a common voice to shout about the amazing offer from social enterprises in this city.
