Horizons
Our Horizons Project enables people with fewer opportunities to develop their skills and realise their aspirations through taking part in unique European work training placements in catering, horticulture, construction and enterprise.
The project is a cross-border collaboration led by The Platform in partnership with organisations in UK, France, Italy and Holland as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
Horizons Project
Learners with fewer opportunities often face barriers to learning and accessing work which can lead to a lack of confidence, skills, qualifications. The Horizon’s Project provides a unique opportunity to enable them to succeed by broadening their horizons and improving their future career and learning prospects. The learners travel as a group with their tutor to carry out a two week work training placement in France, Italy or Holland with the aims of:

Engaging in positive new experiences to build confidence, motivation and social skills
Gaining practical work experience to boost their employability
Providing additional assessment opportunities for learners to succeed in their qualifications
Discovering other cultures, countries and language to broaden their life perspective
