As part of Brighton Digital Festival, September’s #Socent Social is showcasing Tech for Good enterprises in the city.

Socials and Showcases are regular opportunities for the social enterprise community to come together to be inspired, connect, learn and have a good time. At each social we shine a spotlight on one of our many inspiring entrepreneurs; hear their story, the ups and downs and learn from their ‘if I’d only knowns’.

Showcase

MakerClub is a network of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) focused after-school clubs based UK wide, designed to teach invention, and all the skills that come with it. Their mission is to build a world-wide squad of creative thinkers, designers, problem solvers and entrepreneurs, ready to take on the world and remake it for the better.

Emteq is a Brighton-based start-up that enables emotional interaction with technology. Their technology enables the user to express themselves emotionally using wearable devices such as virtual reality headsets and other types of “smart specs”. They aim to develop applications that could transform the future development of research for a range of conditions including facial palsy, stroke rehabilitation and driver drowsiness.
